Over the last decade, the publishing industry has seen a huge surge, especially in the case of ebooks. The number of e-books has gone up in the United States of America and is also picking up in other parts of the world.

The US book industry generated over 25 billion US dollars in 2019.
The total number of print books has gone up. The annual print book sales in the US in 2017 was 675 million.
In 2017, 162 million e-books were sold in the US.
The number of self-published books in the US in 2018 was 1.68 million.
The time to write is now. It’s a good time for writers to write and to publish their books as their is a lot of demand for books. Also there are readers and fans for almost any category, any genre. You just need to do some research and write to the market.
